a little interview I did for my old student and now friend about turning 40

CASE & POINT

Daniel was my favorite TA in art school. He was down-to-earth, fun and authentic — not the combo you usually get in an art TA. I only had him for one quarter and then we both went our separate ways … until I bumped into him in a boutique in Silver Lake many years later. We have since kept in touch, even as he moved to Londontown a couple of years back, even managing a few heart-to-hearts thanks to the wonder that is the internet. Recently, Daniel was in LA for a friend’s wedding and he graciously made time to grab lunch with me in Larchmont. His interview is down-to-earth, fun and candid as friends are with one other.
